The Glow Was Never Gone

There comes a point in life when you look in the mirror and wonder what happened to the person you used to be.
Not because you no longer recognize yourself.
But because somewhere along the way, the light feels different.
The excitement isn’t the same.
The energy isn’t the same.
The passion isn’t the same.
You still show up.
You still do what needs to be done.
You still carry responsibilities, fulfill obligations, and meet expectations.
But something feels dimmer than it once did.
Many people call it burnout.
Others call it exhaustion.
Some call it stress.
But what if there is something deeper beneath the surface?
What if the glow was never gone?
What if it was simply buried beneath the weight of the season?
Life has a way of placing things on us that we never expected to carry.
Disappointments.
Delays.
Detours.
Heartbreak.
Rejections.
Responsibilities.
Losses.
Unexpected transitions.
And while we often survive these experiences, survival has a way of shifting our focus.
We become so busy carrying the weight that we stop paying attention to the light.
We spend so much time managing what is happening around us that we lose sight of what is still happening within us.
The interesting thing about light is that it does not cease to exist simply because it is hidden.
The sun still shines behind the clouds.
A candle still burns even when covered.
A seed still contains life beneath the soil.
Just because something is not visible does not mean it is absent.
Perhaps that is the lesson hidden beneath the season.
The glow was never gone.
The confidence was still there.
The purpose was still there.
The creativity was still there.
The strength was still there.
The joy was still there.
Covered.
Maybe.
Delayed.
Possibly.
Forgotten.
Perhaps.
Gone?
Never.
Sometimes life is not asking us to become something new.
Sometimes it is inviting us to remember who we have always been.
Because there is a different kind of glow that comes when you know yourself.
When you remember who you are.
When you remember whose you are.
When you stop measuring your value by what happened to you.
When you stop allowing disappointments to define you.
When you stop looking for external validation to confirm an internal truth.
When you stop comparing your journey to someone else's timeline.
When you stop focusing on what you lost and start recognizing what remains.
There is a confidence that comes from knowing.
A peace that comes from remembering.
A radiance that comes from alignment.
You glow differently when you are no longer trying to become enough because you have finally remembered that you already are.
Perhaps that is why the glow was never gone.
It was waiting for you to see yourself clearly again.
To reconnect with the dreams you placed on hold.
To rediscover the parts of yourself that got buried beneath obligation.
To return to the things that make you feel alive.
The season may have covered the glow.
But it never had the power to extinguish it.
And maybe that is the wisdom hidden beneath the surface.
You are not searching for something that was lost.
You are uncovering something that was there all along.
The glow was never gone.
It was waiting for you to find your way back to it.
